The 142nd Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus

Good morning from beautiful Quebec City (The Old City), Quebec Canada.

Well my arrival to Canada was uneventful…partly. We arrived in Toronto and spent the next 10 hours getting our connecting flight to Quebec City. It only took two airplanes and three gate changes….Oh, I almost forgot, two flight crews.

Now that I’m here…finally! I will be posting at least once a day, maybe more. Today will be mostly catching up on much needed rest and getting those mundane tasks like getting registered with the Supreme Secretary’s Office and the Quebec State Secretary’s office and get my door prize all done.

Right now, I think I will leave off for a while. I need to get breakfast and nose around a bit.

Well, it’s been a long day here. The cover photo for these posts is the Citadel. I Got registered and spent the afternoon and evening with my fellow delegates and state officers. Tomorrow is Mass in the morning and assisting with the tour of hospitality rooms. Then we will have the pin swap and the opening concert (I’ll let you who’s playing in the morning.).

Aug. 5

Its been a busy day for your team. We had breakfast to start and then we started prepping for the Hospitality room Open House. That went very well, thanks in part to the view we have. After the Open House, we had lunch and told stories for a few hours. At 4:00 PM, we had the pin swap. I have one pin left to swap and we have a few days left. I’m trying for Mexico but I missed them yesterday.

After the swap was the Awards and Opening Concert. We “Missouri” won Circle of Honor. We had a hand in that even if it was small. The concert was very good the group who performed was LEAHY a family band of about 10. The band is based in Lakewood, Ontario. The concert lasted until about nine, mostly folk music. I called it a night after the concert.

Aug. 7

Good evening everyone. I know I didn’t post anything last night. We had the States Dinner last night. We had words from Now, today we elected 12 Supreme Directors to a 3 year term. We closed the session about 1:30. This evening we went out to dinner in the old city at an Italian place. If you are looking at taking a trip to Europe sometime? I suggest a trip to Quebec City. But, you had better have good walking shoes. I haven’t made it to the lower city yet and may not (My knees are currently a bit annoyed with me.). This will be my last post from Quebec City.
